How To Be Saved

God 's Plan for Your Salvation

"God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  (John 3:16)

God's primary reason for creating you was to be able to have a relationship with you and be able to fellowship with you.  Unfortunately, because of your sin, that relationship and fellowship with God isn't possible.

Romans 3:23 tells us, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Your sin nature is expressed by fulfilling the desires (or lust) of your heart and flesh.  What can you do about it?   Honestly, you can't do anything about it by yourself.  So God came up with a plan so something could be done about it.  His plan is called the PLAN OF SALVATION.

Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth (showed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  Did you notice that God's plan doesn't require you to do anything to clean up your life first?  It say's "...while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Perhaps your are wondering, "Why did Jesus have to die for my sins?"  The Bible tells us in,

Romans 6:23 "For the wages (or penalty) of sin is death:

The death we are talking about here is not just the death of your body, but also the death of your soul (the soul is sometimes refered to as your spirit).   That's why Jesus had to die for your sins.  Jesus, the Son of God, came into this world to live a perfect sinless life so His death would be acceptable to God the Father as a substitution for your death, that way your sin debt would be paid in full.  This is what we mean when we say, "We have been saved."  Jesus died in our place to pay the debt for our sins.

Perhaps you're wondering, "Just exactly what is it I have to do to be saved?"  The answer to this questions is found in Romans 10: 9 & 10:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth  confession is made unto salvation."

That's all there is to it.  Just believe it, say you believe it, and receive it.  It's placing your faith in God's provision for paying the debt of your sin for you through Jesus' death in your place.  Jesus died for your sins.  He was burried in a grave and 3 days later He was raised from the dead by the power of God in victory over death, hell and the grave.  Placing your faith in Jesus is the only way to be saved, to receive eternal life and get into heaven.

Wow!  What a plan.  All you have to do is

1.  ADMIT TO YOURSELF AND TO GOD THAT YOU ARE A SINNER.

2. REPENT (THAT MEANS TO TELL GOD YOU ARE SORRY FOR YOUR SINS AND TURN AWAY FROM YOUR UNGODLY, SINFUL BEHAVIOR).

3. ASK JESUS TO FORGIVE YOUR SINS,  AND BECOME YOUR SAVIOR RIGHT NOW.

If you believe that Jesus died to pay the debt of your sin and you ask Him to forgive you, He will forgive you.  You will be saved and you will revceive the promise of eternal life in heaven with God.  You don't have to do 10 good deeds or say 30 days of prayers or anything else to be saved.  All you have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and invite him to become the Savior of your life. Won't you ask Jesus to come into your heart right now and save you?

Pray: Dear Jesus, I admit I am a sinner and I want to be saved.  I want to have a relationship with God the Father through you.  Forgive my sins and come into my heart to live as my Lord and Savior right now. Amen.

Did you pray that prayer and ask Jesus into your life?  If so, share it with some one right away,  If there is no one you can share it with, send me an email and tell me about it.  I would love to share it with my church.  Better yet, if you live in the area, come tell us in person.   I encourage you to immediately find a good Bible believing, Bible teaching chruch and begin to worship God and study His Word on a regular basis. God Bless you as you begin your new life in Jesus Christ.
